Another Lyons barn fire is labeled
'suspicious'
The Lyons Volunteer Fire Department was out battling another blaze last night on Sutton Road. A barn owned by the Feiock family was on fire around 9:20 p.m., on July 24. The barn fire on Leach Road on July 20 was called in just before 10 p.m. The Galbraith barn on Maryland Road burned a few days before the barn on Leach. The Wayne County Sheriff's Department was on the scene searching for evidence of what caused the barn fire yesterday. This barn fire is being labeled 'suspicious and under investigation,' according to the Sheriff's Dept. Lyons Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Marbletown Fire Department, while Newark volunteers were on standby. A NYSEG crew came to the scene to disconnect the electrical service to the barn. Barn owner Craig Feiock said the barn was used to house livestock, rolls of hay, equipment and a few old cars. He said he was able to get all the horses safely out of the burning barn. Moments later, a cat jumped to safety from the falling building. The blaze was declared extinguished at 12:42 this morning.
