Marion Legion plans auction
for Wounded W
arriors
By Beth Hoad

The Marion American Legion Memorial Post 1430 and Auxiliary will hold their Anything and Everything Sale and Auction on June 28 at the Legion Home on Witherden Road.

The times are from 9 to 5, with the auction starting at 11. Proceeds of the event will go to the Wounded Warrior Program with funds from this year's project going to the Landstul Military Hospital in Germany.

Last year the event raised over $700 for the program, the purpose of which is to raise awareness and enlist public aid for the needs of severely injured American service men and women. It provides tangible support to help them heal physically and mentally in the form of essential care and comfort items such as clothing, toiletries, calling cards, etc.

It also provides such items for the wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan during their relocation to the U. S. military trauma center.

Gina Southcott has information on the yard sales, renting spaces, and buying raffle tickets. For drop off appointments during June or more information call Southcott at 315.576.6383 or the Post Home at 926.5571. If items cannot be dropped off, pick-up can be arranged.
