Newark Kiddie Day parade is June 7

The Newark Kiddie Day Parade is June 7 at 1 p.m. Children up through 6th grade may participate.

Prize categories are:

Float - power drawn (adult), float - kid powered (pedal/battery), float - hand drawn, book characters, best boy's costume, best girl's costume, patriotic theme, TV/movie theme, theme of the future, miscellaneous.

Be in line at 12:30.

In case of rain, meet at Newark Fire Hall.

Parade assembles on Grant Street, proceeds to South Main Street, turns north and ends at Central Park.

Parents must make name tag for each child.

Event is sponsored by Arcadia Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2883, Newark volunteer Firemen, August Mauer Post #286 - American Legion, their Auxiliaries, Elks Lodge #1249 and the Village of Newark.
