Flag Day ceremony Saturday in Lyons Lyons Elks Lodge #869 will conduct the Flag Day Ceremony on June 14, at 10 a.m. at the bandstand of the central village park. Exalted Ruler, Gary A. Rogers, together with other Lodge Officers, will lead the ceremony. Local Girl and Boy Scout troops will also participate in the ceremony along with the music talents of the Lyons High School Band. Ben Davies (Marion), Emily Strong (Lyons) and Anna Reale (Lyons), winners of the Americanism Essay Contest sponsored by the Elks, will be guest speakers. The public is invited to attend this service. Also the Lyons VFW and American Legion will conduct a Flag Retirement/ Burning Ceremony. If you have old flags that you would like to have properly disposed of please bring them to this ceremony. In the event of rainy weather, ceremony will be held at the same time across the street, inside the Lyons Elks Lodge. Copyright
