Pride of Lyons inducts community members The Pride of Lyons Hall of Fame Induction banquet was hosted June 6 at Studebaker's Grille. The Lyons High School Leadership and Community Group sponsored the dinner as part of a community service project. The inductees all have deep ties to the community and have shown a love and passion for its success. Pictured are Sidney and Hailey Dobbins; back row, Mike James, Bob Ohmann, Bruce Lester. Mike James, a 1986 Lyons graduate, was chosen for his drive and ambition. He was recognized for outstanding accomplishments as an independent entrepreneur. He still resides in Lyons with his family, and owns several companies in the area. He has been a supporter of local youth programs. Bruce Lester, a 1954 LHS grad, resides with his wife in Oswego. He studied Elementary Education then Counseling and is now practicing in the Department of Counseling and Psychological services at SUNY Oswego. He serves on several boards and in several associations. The inspirational inductee was Noel Dobbins. Noel was a major contributor to the Mural Mania craze. He was known for his involvement in the community. His award was received by his daughters Hailey and Sidney Dobbins. Robert Ohmann, 1968 Lyons grad, has been giving back to the community for many years. He has been a benefactor to many projects such as re-opening Ohmann Theater, contributions to the Lyons Community Center and the Lyons Fire Department, and supporting many athletic programs.
