Book club meets June 16 in Newark

Beyond the Covers book club will meet at 7 p.m. on June 16 in the community room of the Newark Public Library.

This month's read is 'Soul Catcher' by Michael C. White, a sweeping saga of Antebellum societal and political tensions. It follows Augustus Cain, a notorious fugitive slave-catcher, who accepts an assignment from a wealthy Virginia plantation owner, to track down two runaway slaves, Henry and Rosett. What follows is a gripping adventure that promises redemption for Cain and his captives.
