The Marion German Club is sponsoring an 'End of the school year Party in the Park' at the Town Park, Saturday, June 21, 6 to 11 p.m. Food for sale, music, moon bounces, free.

Bea Schultz was treated to a picnic and belated 'birthday party' at the home of Tom Gleason, in honor of her June 9 birthday. Friends attending were Joyce Cantwell and Joyce's children and grandchildren.

Early Marion - June 29, 1922 - Marion High School building has been condemned by the State Department and a special meeting to vote upon the necessary measures to be taken to proper for building a new schoolhouse will be held at Marion Union school building on Tuesday.

The Seppeler Family Fundraiser is Sunday, June 22, at the Marion Town Park - 11 to 5. Spaghetti dinner, DJ for dancing and listening and many items to be raffled.

We send thanks to the Marion Postmaster, the staff and the mail carriers for collecting foodstuffs for the Marion Food Pantry. Many folks in our area will benefit from these generous donations. Marion Food Pantry is open Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Marion Elementary School auditorium.

  • June 23, 6th grade field days and 6th grade graduation at 7 p.m. at the Elementary School.
  • June 24, Marion elementary school picnic day
  • June 25, - Marion elementary moving on day at 11:30 a.m.

June 27, COMMENCEMENT

  • Senior Class breakfast - 8 a.m.
  • Commencement rehearsal - 8:30
  • Commencement exercises -7:30 p.m. with Senior Bash following.

Early Marion - June 19, 1941- Awards for athletic and other types of student activity were awarded to Marion Central School students at the annual banquet of the Athletic Association last Friday in the school cafeteria. Highest athletic award, the Honor Award, which is gained by a total of seven letters, were presented to Marvin Hermanet, Gerald Petty and Harold Cook.

'Garbage Pail Turkey'

  • 10 lb. turkey
  • 10 lb. charcoal briquettes
  • 10 gallon garbage pail
  • When briquettes are white hot, brush them aside.
  • Put foil on ground and place pole in the center of the foil
  • Place salted, etc. turkey on pole (neck up)
  • Place garbage pail over turkey. Push hot coals around bottom of the garbage pail, and on the top. Uncover after 90 minutes and ENJOY!
