Newark High School photo exhibit on display at museum A creative photographic exhibit of some of the artifacts at the County Historical Society in Lyons, produced by NHS students in the advanced photography class, is on display at the 21 Butternut Street museum. Michele Vair, visual artist and photographer affiliated with Young Audiences of Rochester, worked with students in NHS art teacher Sally Loiacono's advanced photography class to help them create photographs of objects of historical importance in the museum. In this project, a cooperative venture between the districts Arts-In-Education program, Young Audiences of Rochester and the Wayne County Historical Museum, Vair and Loiacono worked with the students, teaching them how to take high-quality digital pictures, crop them and add special effects through color or filters. The students produced 58 photographs. All of them were published on cards designed by Vair that were given to the museum for various uses. This project gave advanced photography students the experience of going on a photo shoot and capturing images for a very specific purpose. Their goal was also to fulfill the 'client's' request - the client being Wayne County Historical Society. The field trip was arranged by Bobbi Clifford, Arts In Education coordinator for Newark schools, and Michele Vair. Copyright
