Lyons youths will put faith into action

Young people from the Lyons community will participate in a week-long service mission experience to help the residents of North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

June 29 to July 5, the young people will participate in the North Kingtown Workcamp, sponsored by Group Workcamps of Loveland, Colorado. Camp participants provide their own expenses and transportation to the camp.

The young people will repair and weatherize family homes for elderly, low-income, and disabled people who are unable to afford or perform the work for themselves.

Several hundred other young people and their adult leaders from locations throughout the United States and Canada, representing many denominations, will also participate in the North Kingstown Camp.

The young people will gain a life-changing understanding about the true meaning of servant hood and work to grow in their Christian faith

Making the trip are: James Hansen, Darrell Sergent, Meaghan Hansen, April Vanderlinde, Becky Heid, Richelle Coons, Amber Clarke, Matthew Killips, Stephanie Heid, Alexis McUmber, and Alexandra Russ.

Adult leaders accompanying the young people will be Andy Sieling , and Dick and Kris Vanderlinde.
