Order seedlings for your backyard

The Soil & Water Conservation District of Wayne County (SWCD) is promoting their annual Backyard Conservation Program. Help protect Wayne County's natural resources while enjoying conservation in your backyard.

The program makes available bare-root tree and shrub seedlings and wildlife nesting boxes suitable for reforestation, wildlife habitat, watershed protection, erosion control, backyard conservation and general environmental improvements.

More than 20 species of seedlings are available including; evergreens, deciduous trees, ground cover and flowering shrubs. Also available are Bluebird nesting boxes, Wood Duck Nesting Boxes and Bat Houses.

This program is open to the public. Order forms, information and pricing is available at the SWCD office. 10 Leach Road in Lyons or you can call 946.4136 to have an order form sent to you.

Deadline to order is April 1; anticipated pick-up dates are April 18 and 19 in Alton.
