Last Friday, I was speaking at Brentland Woods in Henrietta and was privileged to meet Ethel Van Ostrand Kidd, a former Marion resident. She used to play the piano at the Colonial Theater, during the silent movies there.

Marion dollars for scholars phone-a-thon ... will be March 11-13 and March 19. Seniors will be working out of the High School offices, making phone calls to Community members between 6-8:30 p.m.

This is a national program that provides financial support in the form of scholarships to seniors. Seniors that help with the phone-a-thon have to fill out an application and hand it in on time. It is to be awarded after the first year of college the following school year.

March 15 - Saturday - Senior Dinner Dance.

Peaches contain Vitamin A, which helps us see in dim light, and riboflavin, which helps us see in bright light.

Because of snow on February 27, a small group met at 'Jennie's house' to plan work meetings and share ideas for warmer weather.

'A sweater is a garment worn by a small child when the mother feels chilly.'

Call me if you want daffodils from the American Cancer Society. The blooms will arrive the week of March 10.

March 10 - Winter sports awards at 7 p.m. at the Junior-Senior High School Auditorium.

March 9 - move your clocks AHEAD for Daylight Saving Time.

March 19, 1898 - Albert Smith has invented a method for fastening the bail or handle on a pail or tub when it becomes detached.

March 4, 1933 - Sixth graders of Marion Central, both boys and girls are busily knitting on their Red Cross afghan.
