Lyons Chamber pushing forward 'Mural Mania' is still progressing with added energy emanating from its local groups and citizens. There are requests from Wayne County Action Program and H.G. Hotchkiss along with friends and family of Noel Dobbins and Zach Briggs to have a mural created in their honor. The fever is spreading and members of the community are stepping forward to claim their paint-spot in the Village of Lyons. The Canal Trail from Newark to Clyde has been put on hold due to lack of funds from the Canal Corporation. E.R.I.E. has requested that Congress fund the remaining part of the project to complete the 'Fifteen Miles on the Erie Canal.' At this point an answer to the request has not been obtained. The hot topic of The Finger Lakes Train Station in Lyons is still at the forefront of everyone's minds as we anxiously await the resolution of Amtrak and CSX. Several local Radio and TV stations including Channel 8 News and WARM 101 with Tony and Dee are watching this story. A community meeting is being planned, with Senator Charles Schumer. The Business of the Month is D'Amico's dental office, on Canal Street. Dr. D'Amico has also expressed an interest in a mural project. The Chamber of Commerce is looking for new members. If you wish to join, obtain a membership form from the Chamber's website at www.lyonsny.com A basic membership costs $40 per year. The next Chamber of Commerce Meeting will be April 7, at 7 p.m. at the Lyons Community Center. Copyright
