Bluegrass music concert The Sodus Rotary Presents a Bluegrass Concert Saturday, March 29, at the Sodus High School Field House, featuring Nothin' Fancy. Doors will open for the Blue Grass Festival at 5 p.m. Kate Lee will perform from 7-7:30 and Nothin' Fancy will perform from 7:30-9 p.m. The Field House is located on the grounds of the Sodus High School at 54 Mill Street. Nothin' Fancy was formed as a bluegrass band in September 1994 with the purpose of competing in the East Coast Bluegrass Championship in Crimora, Virginia. Since their auspicious debut, they have grown in popularity, released seven albums and one CD single, played the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, the Lincoln Center in New York City, the Birchmere in Alexandria VA, and have their own festival in Buena Vista, VA which is now in its 7th year. Nothin' Fancy is signed to North Carolina-based Pinecastle Records, and with them have released three recordings. Kate Lee (who lives in Webster) with No Strings Attached opened for Rhonda Vincent at last year's Sodus Bluegrass Concert, and she was such a crowd pleaser the Sodus Rotary has invited her back. With the backing of some seasoned Rochester musicians she is returning, and will sing a few tunes from her brand new CD titled On Your Way. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
