'Lady Pirates' musical this weekend at NRW
By Roland Micklem

'Shiver Me Timbers, Avast Ye Landlubbers....'

Make way for 'The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree,' who may be found not too far from the shores of Lake Ontario.

This show is taking the stage March 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the North Rose Wolcott Middle School.

The venture includes a 35-member cast, plus numerous stagehands and a nine-piece band, all pupils at the middle school.

This is the story of a pirate ship with an all-female crew, that captures a merchant ship, forming a situation around which the plot revolves. A romance develops between the merchant ships Captain Jennings (Caleb Miraglia), and Captain Bree (Amelia Rothfuss), and other interactions between captors and captured move the story along at a lively and entertaining clip.

'The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree' is a down-home effort in the best tradition of small town America.

Music direction is by Middle School Choir Director Fred Dunn, and the drama director is Laurie Navratil, Middle School English teacher
