Newark Hospital sponsors dinner/lecture

According the National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse, 20.8 million people have diabetes. Diabetes is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.

With symptoms that range from blindness to loss of limbs and many other life-altering symptoms, individuals with the disease and their families need to understand the diagnosis and options available for treatment.

As part of Newark-Wayne's 'For Your Good Health' dinner/lecture series, Dr. Ernesto Santana, an internist, will speak Wednesday about this topic.

His talk, 'What You Should Know About Diabetes,' will be held at the Newark Quality Inn on April 2.

The format of this dinner/lecture is different from our past Lecture Series programs. Registration and dinner will be available beginning at 5 p.m. The lecture will be held form 5:45 to 6:45 p.m.

For $5, you can learn about this topic and can enjoy a special buffet dinner. Reservations are required and seating is limited; call today, 1.877.922.5465.

The next program by Dr. Ralph Madeb, on prostate cancer, will be Wednesday, May 7 at Parkwood Heights in Macedon.
