Town hall meeting,
'Digital TV' show in Newark

The Village of Newark is sponsoring the May 22 'Digital Television: Experience the Benefits' Town Hall Meeting.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. and is being held at the Quality Inn, 125 North Main Street, Newark.

Attending the meeting, to answer questions, are Mayor Peter Blandino, Library Director Elly Dawson, Brian Kerkhoven from Congressman Jim Walsh's Palmyra Office, John Walsh, Chief Engineer, WHEC-TV - Channel 10, Logan Crane, RadioShack, and Bart Forbes, NTIA, U.S. Department of Commerce, Washington, DC.

Friday, May 23, 10 to 3, you're invited to see the 'Digital TV Roadshow' at Wegmans in Newark.

This is one of the grassroots marketing initiatives of the National Association of Broadcasters.

The DTV Road Show helps increase consumer awareness of the February 17, 2009 transition to digital television (DTV) in targeted areas with high proportions of broadcast-only households. The DTV Trekker provides information about the nation's switch to digital television broadcasting.

For information on the town hall meeting or the event at Wegmans, call Bart Forbes, 202.482.1950 or email bforbes@ntia.doc.gov
