On the occasion of his grandfather Gordon's retirement, Justin Devlin treated him to lunch at Orbaker's on Tuesday.

May 21, 1942 - The annual Junior Prom will be held Friday in the Marion High gym. The prom will follow the moving up day exercises which will be held the same day in the afternoon in Firemen's Park. Joe Cady with his 14 piece orchestra and vocalist will be here for the Black-out Victory Prom. The atmosphere will be a patriotic one. The prom will be semi-formal.

May 27, high school Spring Vocal Concert and Art Show at 7 p.m.

Members of the TULIP group of the Red Hat Society spent part of Saturday afternoon, the 17th, at 'Jennie's House.' It was a time of tea and desserts, conversation and a presentation titled, Porching.

Spring plans for work at 'Jennie's House' is progressing nicely, thanks to ambitious volunteers. The next scheduled showing will be on August 23, 2008, a Saturday, while celebrating Marion's Public Library's 100th Anniversary.

The Hen House Country Store is going out of business. It will offer merchandise discounts and to give customers, with Gift Certificates, an opportunity to use them, May 28 to June 1 and June 4-7. Hours 10 to 5 - located at 6165 Richardson Rd., Williamson; 483.1533.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service for Nellie DeWispelaere on Saturday, May 24 at 2 p.m. at the Second Reformed Church on Mill Street.

May 10, Marion Pack 137 Webelos Den members, siblings, and parents visited the Dolomite Products Co. Dolomite invited the public to attend an open house located on 746 Whalen Rd. in Penfield. The Penfield site is just one of several sites the Dolomite Co. operates in our area. While there, the scouts learned about various forms of stone, methods of rock formation, and even got to 'mine' for specimens to take home.
