The Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star will hold a Chicken BBQ and Pie Sale at the Lodge on North Main Street, on May 31, starting at 3:30. Tickets are $7.50 and $4.

May 29, residents at the Drumlin Estates enjoyed a beef roast with all the trimmings.

I just heard that Baltimore Orioles, and perhaps other birds, truly enjoy the taste of grape jelly. I'm trying an experiment on the patio fence.

June 3, Spring Sports Awards and End of Year Awards Ceremony at 7 p.m. at the High School

June 6, Marion K-4th grade vocal concert, 9:30 a.m. at the elementary school.

May 1917 - In the Southern Wayne Interscholastic Prize speaking contest, which will be held in Newark on Wednesday evening, May 8, Marion High School will be represented by Lois Taylor and Edward O'Neal, with Gertrude Lookup and Anthony Betten as alternates.

May 21, 1942 - Marion again whipped North Rose Friday night in a game at North Rose, 9 to 7. Dick Witter pitched the entire game. There were two home runs in the game, one by George O'Brien and one by Dick Witter. Marion did not score until the 4th inning. North Rose scored in the 1st and 7th.
