Doctor is guest speaker Wednesday Pediatrician Claire Stutzman, D.O., will talk about 'Good Nutrition for Healthy Children' at the Nov. 12 program at Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club. Good nutrition, along with adequate exercise, sufficient rest and positive emotional support among other needs, is essential for optimal growth and health in children. Inadequate or incorrect nutrition can lead to a host of childhood and sometimes life-long problems including: diabetes, allergies, digestive problems, poor self image and more. Dr. Claire Stutzman, a pediatrician at Rochester General Medical Group in Sodus (formerly Rochester General Wayne Medical Group), will speak about this important topic. Her lecture will be held at Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club on Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 6 to 8. Registration is at 5:30 p.m.; dinner is at 6 p.m.; the program starts at 7. Dr. Stutzman specializes in care for children from newborns through teens. She earned her Medical Degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, and completed her Pediatric residency training at Albany Medical Center Children's Hospital in Albany. She has lectured on Eating Disorders, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Fruit Juice Intake and Weight Gain in Low Income Families and other topics. Reservations are required and seating is limited.
