Newark's Fenyn will attend Virginia Tech

Newark basketball player Alyssa Fenyn has agreed to attend Virginia Tech University on a full scholarship to play basketball.

She has had numerous offers, including Seton Hall University, but it was the 'beauty and academics of Virginia Tech,' she says, which sold her on the school.

Fenyn is Newark's all-time leading scorer and rebounder and helped lead the Lady Reds to the Final Four state championships two years ago and to a Sectional title.

Coach Diane Kirnie says, 'Alyssa is the best I've ever seen on the hardwood floors at Newark High.'

Alyssa will be signing her letter of intent Friday at the high school
