Ziegler & Collins will make music in Phelps

The Phelps Arts Center presents Roxannne Ziegler on harp and Mitzie Collins on hammered dulcimer for a unique concert on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m.

The program will include dance tunes from Western New York State, jigs and reels from Ireland and Scotland, and a rag-time tune from the early 20th century. The performers are known for their ability to engage the audience not only with their unusual instrumental combination but also with their lively commentary on the music.

Collins is on the faculty of the Eastman Community Music School, and was the recipient of the 2007 Artist Award from the Arts Council for Greater Rochester.

Ziegler teaches more than 35 students in her private studio and also performs in a healing ministry in regional hospitals and nursing homes. They have been performing together as a duo for more than 20 years. Tickets are $5 and $3.
