State EMS honors Liddle and Grass Two volunteers were among a group of 12 people statewide who were recognized by New York State EMS for their efforts to improve Emergency Medical Services. Bill Liddle, Wayne County EMS Coordinator and a volunteer EMT, was selected as the New York State EMS Educator of Excellence for 2008. He works to improve EMS from the caregiver end by teaching others what he has learned. He has provided training to hundreds of EMTs, first responders, firefighters, and healthcare providers. He's taught CPR/AED and First Aid to schools, law enforcement, Scout troops, civic organizations and churches. Fox Grass was selected as the New York State Basic Life Support Provider of the Year. She was chosen for her 'quick, unselfish response and her excellent dedicated service to the public.' Grass volunteers as both an EMT and a firefighter for the Fairville Fire Department. She was honored for her dedication to EMS and for the role she played in helping successfully resuscitate a teen-ager who had attempted suicide.
