Peppermint Winter Wonderland in Lyons

The Peppermint Winter Wonderland will be held December 7, in the Village Square in Lyons, starting at 4:30 p.m. with holiday music in the park, local entertainment, Mayor's holiday cheer address, and the beautiful illumination ceremony. There will be a community sing-along and the arrival of Santa Claus at 5:15 p.m.

From the park, Santa will lead the children to the Ohmann Theatre for a free showing of holiday featurettes with refreshments for all. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The budget for this event comes directly from sponsoring Lyons business owners and residents. The committee is happily accepting any monetary donations.

Donations should be made no later than December 1st for this years event. Please make all checks payable to the Lyons Chamber of Commerce, with the notation made in the memo section earmarking the donation for the Peppermint Winter Wonderland. Donations may be forwarded to the Lyons Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 39, Lyons 14489.

All sponsors, regardless of donation amount, will be publicly acknowledged via a thank you advertisement in the shopping guide. The Committee is also looking for volunteers to help decorate the park. Anyone interested in volunteering to put up the lights is encouraged to meet in the Village Square at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22.
