Dinner with Jay Stetzer at Newark's Erie Falcon Tickets are available at the Newark Library for those interested in sharing an evening with noted storyteller, Jay Stetzer. The dinner is Saturday, October 18 at 6:30. Fans and friends may gather at Erie Falcon to enjoy his stories. Known to many as the voice on radio who shared Fables in Four Minutes, and often seen on WXXI sharing his stories, Stetzer shares his stories from the heart. Tickets for the dinner are $30. 'Dinner with Jay Stetzer' will serve as the conclusion to a day-long Festival of Storytellers sponsored by the Newark Library and the Tim Johnson Cultural Platform. Jay Stetzer shares on his website that there is an awesome power in a story, and it is transferred from the teller to the listener with two simple tools: the spoken word and a willing imagination, engaging the listener as if he or she were actually living it. The plan to invite Jay to Newark and the concept of the Festival of Storytellers was born after retired Presbyterian Pastor Tim Johnson and his wife Ann met Jay while camping. The Festival of Storytellers will be held at the Wayne County Campus of FLCC which will offer plenty of parking and an opportunity to visit this great facility. The Oct. 18 festival will begin with free storytelling for children of all ages at 11 a.m. The Festival of Storytellers will offer workshops during the day and require registration and have fees involved. Storytellers participating in the festival include Gretchen Murray Sepik, Tales n Tunes, Marabeth Nally, Mary DeMarsh, Charles Temple and Pam Wolfanger.
