Fairville F.D. open house Sunday afternoon

Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 5, when the Fairville Fire Department will hold their open house and fire safety program, from 1-4 p.m.

People will have a chance to see not only Fairville's fire and emergency vehicles, but many others from the surrounding area and beyond. There will be rides on antique fire trucks and on the new ATV Medical Rescue, and lots of fun with balloon making and face painting.

Bring the whole family ... for food and drinks, lots of fun and a good time. Kids will have a chance to go through the Safety Trailer and to practice operation E.D.I.T.H.

Parents can take advantage of the Child Safe ID tag program, offered by the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, as well as child safety seat inspections. The new Wayne County Mobile Command Center will be on display, as well as Stop DWI.

A special event is a fire truck from New York City with the names of all the firefighters who lost their lives during the rescue attempt at the World Trade Center on 9/11.
