Book Review Lunch Oct. 10 in Newark

The Friends of the Newark Public Library will present Peter Evans, Wayne County Historian, as guest reviewer, on Friday at noon.

Evans resides in Pultneyville with his wife and two children.

He was appointed historian in 2004, after retiring from Kodak. He will review Ladies of Liberty: The Women Who Shaped Our Nation by Cokie Roberts. This colorful blend of biographical portraits and behind the scenes vignettes is told with insight and humor. It takes a hard look at the question of what is the proper role of a woman and mother in politics.

Reservations for the luncheon and review are $4.50 and should be made by calling 331.4370 before October 8.
