Program Sunday at Sodus Bible

World Mission Month continues at the Bible Baptist Church of Sodus. The observation of the mission program began October 5, when Paul Burress addressed the congregation.

Burress is a Chaplain with the Good News Jail & Prison Ministry in Wayne and Monroe Counties. He is one of the 18 full-time missionaries the church supports.

Pastor Jay Riggleman's services for October 12 and 26 will be mission oriented. His message on Oct. 26 will challenge the congregation to take a step of faith and go on a short-term mission trip.

In 2008, the church sent out eight members on short term mission trips to Europe and Central America.

Kelly Kolyer (France) and Chris Hewitt (Mexico) will share their mission experiences in the Sunday school hour. The service will highlight the Guatemala team of Pastor Jay, his son Erik, Pam and Claudia Arend and Jon and Sandy Stone. The team will sing some songs in Spanish and share their testimonies.

Leon Hakes, mission committee chairman said a banquet is planned for Oct. 18. It will feature entrees from France, Mexico and Guatemala.

Kolyer, a 2007 graduate from Williamson, said, 'After my trip to France, I have such a passion for evangelism, that if I were called into full-time missions, I would gladly go.'

Anyone interested in the BBCS mission program may call the church at 483.9886. The Church is located at 6186 Ridge Road in Sodus.
