Health screening Saturday at Newark and Myers

Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, in conjunction with the Newark Rotary Club, will offer its health screening for community members. The health screening will be held, on Nov. 1 at both Newark Hospital and at the Myers Laboratory in Sodus.

The Newark Health Screen will take place from 6-10 a.m. in the Hospital cafeteria.

The Myers Health Screen will take place from 7-10:30 a.m. at the Outpatient Lab at 6692 Middle Rd, Suite 1100, Sodus.

This screening is an opportunity for individuals to obtain a preliminary review of their general health status through a variety of blood tests including liver, kidney, metabolic, lipid, and hematological functions.

A range of 26 different blood tests will be performed to evaluate ones health. Test results will be forwarded to the individual and his/her physician. The cost for the screening is just $20. There is an additional $10 charge for males who choose to have the test to screen for prostate cancer (PSA).

Advance registration is required. call 332.2211, Monday to Friday, between 9 and 5.

Participants must fast from all food and drink, except water, for 10 hours prior to their blood draw. Diabetics are advised to consult their physician before fasting. Refreshments will be provided for participants who have completed the screening.
