No injuries in fire
at Micro-Tech in Newark

More than 30 firefighters responded to a 5:57 a.m. fire Thursday, at Micro-Tech Corp., 301 West Shore Blvd., when overheated titanium chips caught fire inside a machine. Sand was used to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters under the direction of Assistant Chief Rod Bliss worked until 6:30 to clear the building of smoke. There were no injuries reported and little damage to the equipment. (Photo was taken by Fire Dept. PIO Dick Colacino)
