Two events at Newark Public Library

Stories, poems, letters, memoirs, essays and you. Writers and listeners are invited September 10 from 6:30 to 8 to 'Open Mic Night' in the Newark Library Community Room.

Get your story out of your head and into the hearts and minds of your community. Or simply come to listen. Bring a favorite snack to share. Coffee, tea and soda provided. Registration is required.

The Library is offering a craft program in which participants will learn how to jazz up an old basket into a beautiful fall harvest basket. Makes a great porch decoration.

Meet in the Community Room from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on September 17.

Registration is required, and participants must bring a medium-size basket. Call 331.4370 to register.
