Reds defeat HFL 25-12 on the gridiron

The Newark Varsity football team traveled to Honeoye Falls-Lima and posted a 25-12 opening victory on September 5. The Reds were fired up early in the game.

David Lee Tack, Ollie Smith and receiver Kyle Moore were too much for the Cougars. Tack threw for 191 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Ollie Smith had 14 carries for 126 yards and two touchdowns including a 66-yard dash, to put the Reds ahead 12-6.

Moore caught passes of 36 and 43 yards for touchdowns and had six catches for 128 yards.

Robert Camblin led the defense with 15 tackles.

Coach Mike McGavisk said, 'It's always nice to start the season with a win and build some momentum.'
