Alumni to honor
1968 Reds football champs

The Newark Football Alumni Reunion is September 12 and 13, and will honor the 1968 Newark High School Central Western Conference League Championship team.

The reunion schedule features an 18-hole golf scramble Friday, September 12, (Alumni only) at Erie Falcon Golf Course, with lunch at noon. Tee off is at 9:30 a.m.

September 12, the Newark football team will meet Canandaigua at Newark's 'Coach Floyd Greene Athletic Field,' with kick-off at 7 p.m.

September 13, golf is available to all in an 18-hole scramble at Erie Falcon, with lunch to follow. Tee off at 9:30 a.m.

The Football Reunion Banquet will be held Saturday at the Elks Lodge. Doors open at 4:30, with a buffet dinner at 6:30.

Featured will be raffles, golf awards, slide show presentations, and a 50/50 drawing.

The Newark Football Alumni will sponsor TV coverage and lights for this year's Senior Night Varsity Football Game, Newark vs. Palmyra-Macedon on October 3, with kickoff at 7 p.m.

The Newark Football Alumni is a non-profit group of football players and coaches who support the current Newark High School Football program. For many years, they have supported the program with contributions of equipment, press box signs, locker room motivation signs, Most Valuable Player Award, TV coverage, and field lighting for Senior Night.

Alumni Committee members are Coach Floyd Greene, Dom Buttaccio, Jake Frank, John Lawrence, Frank Filardo, Jim Ruffalo, Roger Vandermortal, Fisk Hayden, John DiSanto, Chan Redfield, Ed Fenyn, Dave Johnson, Bill D'Agostino, Mike Muscolino, Tom Policano, Red Thomson and Duane Lynn.
