Sept. 8, 1955: Lunches will be served in the Marion Central School cafeteria beginning September 12 for 20 cents.

Pig Roast - Saturday, September 20 from 4:30 p.m. until gone at the United Church of Marion. Adults $7 & children 5-12 $3.50. Take-outs available.

'Just when you get used to yesterday, along comes today'

August 15, 1946: The first several annual shows of the Empire State Gladiolus Society was held in Marion Saturday afternoon.

August 23, 1956: Marion C. Rich was awarded the 'most beautiful award' for his pink color entry in the sixth annual gladiolus show of the Empire State Gladiolus Society held at the State University Ag. and Tech Institute at Alfred. He also won the best seedling award for his unnamed yellow entry.

In 1892 a canning co. was organized that annually puts out one million cans of tomatoes, rhubarb, berries, peas, beans, corn and apples. A creamery co. was organized in 1900 that puts out annually over a quarter of a million pounds of butter. A warehouse that sends to Europe dried fruits and beans to the amount of half a million apples is so vast they could not otherwise be accommodated.

September 5, 1940: The Marion School Board will give an extra concert in Firemen's Park this Saturday at 8 o'clock. Last Saturday the band enjoyed a trip to Coburg, chaperoned by Theron Forbes, director, Mrs. Howard Radley and Mrs. C. Ray Curtis.
