Historic House Tour a Hit

The 2008 Newark-Arcadia Historic House Tour was the talk of the town on Saturday as over 180 people visited a number of interesting and historic homes and sites in and around Newark. Refreshments were served at Vintage Gardens Bed & Breakfast on High Street and at the Willows Bed & Breakfast on Ryder Road.

History buffs were treated to stained glass windows, antiques, stone fireplaces as well as a peak into the Nichols Memorial Chapel, a fixture in the Newark Cemetery on North Main Street since 1948.

The tour was the seventh in a series of such events put on by the Newark-Arcadia Historical Society.
