Celebrate Homecoming this weekend The homecoming parade on Sept. 26 featuring floats made by the four classes at Newark High School will begin at the Alex Eligh Community Center on East Avenue at 5:30 p.m. The parade caps off Spirit Week, in which students, who wish to participate, dress according to the theme of each of the five days. Students will put finishing touches on the floats just before the parade begins. The themes are: Senior class, Batman; Juniors, X-Men; Sophomores, Spiderman; Freshmen, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Floats will be judged when the parade route concludes at NHS, around 6:30. The winning trophy be will awarded before the 7 p.m. Newark-Geneva football game. The trophy goes to the class that had the best float, and the greatest amount of participation during Spirit Week and the best float. There will be a Pep Rally Friday at the end of the school day. Music Boosters are having a Chicken BBQ, 3 to 6 p.m. on the school campus. There will be a Homecoming Dance Saturday, from 8-11 p.m., in the gym. September 26
