United Way Canal Walk Oct. 4 in Newark

The United Way of Wayne County and Wayne ARC will hold a 5K Walk at T. Spencer Knight Park along the scenic canal trail.

The event, which supports programs, services, and public awareness for both organizations, will take place October 4, rain or shine. Registration for participants begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 10. Lunch will be provided following the event.

We are excited about the walk and looking forward to it becoming a popular annual event that will grow in size and participation from communities across the county, said United Way Board President Mike Calarco.

Walk participants are encouraged to collect pledges to sponsor their efforts. Sponsor a company team or ask friends and family to join. There is a $25 team registration fee, $15 individual registration fee.
