Walk Thursday in Clifton Springs, to fight breast cancer Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic is hosting the 'Stepping Out In Style Against Breast Cancer' walk on October 2, at Clifton Springs Hospital, 2 Coulter Road. In addition to the Walk, the Hospital is conducting a 'Quilts for a Cause' silent auction of 13 handmade quilts donated by Ivy Thimble Quilt and Gift Shop in Victor. Proceeds from both events benefit patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer at Clifton Springs Hospital and Finger Lakes Community Cancer Center. The quilts, stitched by the customers and staff of Ivy Thimble over the past year, feature the pink ribbon theme and words of hope and encouragement. Bidders are asked to write their auction bids in a book at the information desk in Clifton Springs Hospital's main lobby. The quilts are on display in the main lobby through October 23, and high bidders will be notified on October 24. The public is invited to 'Help Light the Way to a Cure-Support Breast Cancer Patients and Their Families' by turning on a porch light or by purchasing luminaries to light along the walk route. The 2.5-mile walk will be throughout the village of Clifton Springs, including portions of Dewey, Pleasant, Main, Broad, South, Pearl, Sherman, Spring, Stephen and Crane Streets and Teft Avenue. Enter the walk with a minimum $20 donation; get sponsors to boost your walk donation; purchase luminaries to light the way; make a straight donation to the Clifton Springs Hospital Foundation; or make a bid on one or more of the Ivy Thimble quilts. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Hospital Main Lobby with the walk beginning at 6. Registration forms can be picked up in the Foundation Office, at the Information Desk, in Finger Lakes Breast Care, Finger Lakes Hematology and Oncology, or Finger Lakes Radiation Oncology.
