Call for artwork

NEWARK - June exhibit is 'Wonders of Nature.' Artwork for that exhibit should be dropped at Wayne Arts from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6.

This is a juried show. Entry fee is $15 for up to three items.

The opening of the exhibit will celebrated with the third annual Victorian Tea at Vintage Gardens Bed and Breakfast from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11.

Tickets for the tea will go on sale at Wayne Arts beginning April.

The members show is scheduled for August. Artwork may be dropped off Friday, July 31 and Saturday, Aug. 1. Entry fee is $15 for up to three items.

Opening reception for the members show is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7.

Wayne County Council for the Arts will be hosting an exhibit honoring local firefighters October. For that show, Wayne Arts is seeking works in oil, watercolor, figure drawing, textile art, sculpture, photography, paper and more that celebrate firefighters.

Up to three items may be entered. Entry is free. Artwork should be submitted Friday, Oct. 2 and Saturday Oct. 3.

The public is invited for the opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday Oct. 9.

A November exhibit will honor those currently serving in the military and veterans.

Artwork submitted should reflect or be influenced by the military and/or times of conflict.

Up to three items may be entered. Entry is free.

Artwork should be submitted Saturday, Oct. 31.

The public is invited to the opening reception Nov. 6.

Wayne Arts is located at 108 W. Miller St. in Newark. Gallery hours are from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 331-4593.
