Food Sense April dates NEWARK - Food Sense is available to everyone everywhere. The program offers the opportunity to stretch food budgets by purchasing quality food at a discount. No donated food is used. Food Sense is a buying club. There is no income requirement. Cost per unit is $15.50. This includes 12 food items, including fruits and vegetables, meats and grocery staples. There are five April specials offered for an additional cost. If anyone is shut in or unable to pick food up, due to age or disability, Newark Rotary can deliver. Call for more details and eligibility. Order dates for April delivery are: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until the deadline, which is noon April 7. Ordering will take place at Catholic Charities at 1141 E. Union St. in Newark. Cash, money orders and Food Stamp Vouchers are accepted. Food orders may be picked up from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 23 at Cornell Cooperative Extension at Route 88 North in Newark. For more information, contact Sandy Thomas at 1141 E.
