Leader training for exercise program scheduled

LYONS - An all-day training for senior citizens, age 55 and older, interested in becoming leaders for the Bone Builders osteoporosis prevention exercise program, will be held April 8 at the Lyons Community Center.

This training will be conducted through a joint venture of Wayne County Department of Aging and Youth and Wayne County Action Program, Inc.

Participants will be taught by a certified instructor from Tuft's University to become competent group leaders for classes currently taking place and new sites. There is an immediate need for people to volunteer in the Newark Senior High Rise, the Palmyra/Macedon area and in Phelps.

Participants from all communities are welcome. Once trained, volunteer group leaders commit to leading a class twice a week on an ongoing basis.

Space is limited in this free training. To register, call Becky Hesbon at 946-7530. For more information, visit www.waynecap.org.
