Gatesinger Company presents WILLIAMSON - A musical spoof set in the early 1900s, the only part of 'Little Mary Sunshine' that might ring true today is that the play opens with a government foreclosure on a mortgage. Rather than billions of bailout money, to set things right, it only takes Mary's friends, the forest rangers, the ladies from Eastchester Finishing School, a Vixennese opera singer, and a mischievous maid. The music of Little Mary Sunshine is not only a comic send-up of the singing cowboy and Mounties' movies, but a collection of lovely hum-able tunes. Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. Friday, April 24, 8 p.m. Saturday, April 25 and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at historic Gates Hall at 4107 Lake Road in Williamson. Tickets are $10; students and senior citizens, $8. For reservations, call 589-3326. Making their directorial debut with The Gatesinger Company will be Amdanda Lobaugh and Patti Montrois. Each has over 25 years theatrical experience, both on stage and behind the scenes. Their first venture in co-directing was with the Off-Monroe Players production of Gilbert and Sullivan's 'The Pirates of Penzance' in May, 2006, which involved many of the Gatesinger performers. Montrois has spent more than 25 years in community theater, involved with the Henrietta Community Players, ACE Performing Arts Society and the Off-Monroe Players. Her experiences on stage include chorus and lead roles. Her off-stage experience, in addition to directing, includes set design/construction, publicity, house managing and producing. Lobaugh likes to mix it up a bit between performing and directing. She's on the board of directors for Off- Monroe Players, is currently producing 'Yeoman of the Guards,' which is opening May 2009, is an Off- Monroe Players costume lending team coordinator and is a devoted fund raiser for Off-Monroe Players. Past favorite roles for Lobaugh include Reno in 'Anything Goes' for Webster Theatre Guild, Ms. Mona in 'Best Little Whorehouse in Texas', Sister Robert Anne in 'Nunsense' with several different theatre groups. Gilbert and Sullivan is her original love. Copyright
