MARION - Thirty-nine girls will compete at 7 p.m. Friday, April 24 for the titles of queen and princess at the 30th annual Wayne County Fair Queen/Princess Pageant at the Marion High School on Warner Road. The public is invited; there is no admission fee.

Contestants will be judged on evening gown, informal interview and speech. The winners will reign over the 154th Annual Wayne County Fair, Aug. 10 to 15 in Palmyra.

Television and radio personality Melanie Barnas will serve as mistress of ceremonies. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the pageant, recognition of past royalty will be the entertainment. The pageant committee is looking for past fair queens, princesses and courts to be recognized. Past royalty who can attend the pageant should call Gerry Dekdebrun at 926-4926. Contestants will be judged on evening gown, informal interview and speech at the pageant.
