Free breast cancer screenings to be offered ROCHESTER - More than three-quarters of all breast cancer occurs in women age 50 and older. To help protect women in our community, Highland Breast Imaging, in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester and the Health Partnership of Monroe County, is celebrating Mother's Day by offering free mammograms to women 40 and older who do not have health insurance, or whose health insurance does not cover mammograms. The free mammograms will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 9 at Highland Breast Imaging at 500 Red Creek Drive, Suite 130 in Rochester. Thanks to a generous donation from the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, a nurse practitioner will be available to perform clinical breast exams for women who have not had one during the past year. A Reiki practitioner will be on hand to provide free 10-minute Reiki sessions after the mammogram. Women who schedule an appointment with a friend or family member will receive a 'buy one get one free' certificate for lunch at Lorraine's Food Factory. Parking is free and refreshments will be provided. Call Highland Breast Imaging at (585) 487-3300 to make an appointment in advance. Women who cannot make the screening day can be scheduled for a different day. Highland Breast Imaging Center is dedicated to helping women meet their health care needs. For more detailed information about Highland Hospital's screening day or the services offered, call Sue Swift, coordinator, patient and community relations, at (585) 487-3305. Copyright
