Upcoming events at Sodus Methodist Church

SODUS: Teenagers interested in a youth group experience are invited from 4 to 6 p.m. each Sunday to Fellowship Hall at the Sodus Methodist Church at 58 W. Main St. After a faith lesson, there will be organized games. Mission projects are being planned for youth and interested adults.

The Book of Romans will be studied at 7 p.m. Mondays with Pastor Clair Mosher in the church lounge. Every other Tuesday evening is the TEENS MOPS program, organized by Roxanne Roscup. The workshop for teen mothers runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Child care is provided.

The public is invited to a dish-to-share dinner 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6. There will be a dish to share dinner. Participants should bring table service and a dish to share. Dessert and beverages will be provided. Following the dinner will be a program presented by Peter and Carol Loveland of the Waterloo United Methodist Church. Recently retired, they have dedicated their lives to missions and have taken several trips to Haiti. They will be sharing an informative PowerPoint presentation on their mission work in Haiti. Community breakfasts will continue the first Saturday of every month from 8 to 10 a.m. The special on Feb. 7 will be waffles and warm cherry topping, in addition to the regular menu of scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, homemade muffins, oatmeal with various toppings, orange juice and coffee. Prices are $4.95 for adults, $2.95 for children 12 and under, $14.95 for the entire family or $3 each for a continental breakfast of two items plus beverage. Everyone is welcome.

Several of the girls from the youth group will be attending the Revolve Tour Feb. 27 and 28 at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester. The primary purpose of the event is to communicate to teen girls that God loves them, just as they are, and to draw them into a life-changing relationship with him. The event will also encourage girls to build healthy relationships with adults and their peers. There will be Christian musicians, drama teams and speakers.

The Outreach Team at the Sodus Methodist Church is sponsoring the Sodus Farmers Market, which will be held Wednesdays from 3 to 7 p.m. starting June 17 and running through Oct. 14. The market will be held in the church parking lot off Belden Avenue. The cost for vendors is $5 per event. Sunday worship service and Christian education classes for middle and high school students and adults meet 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. Youth breakfast is served at 10:15 a.m. The Spiritfire Praise Band plays at 10:30 a.m. and worship begins at 10:45 a.m., with elementary Sunday school classes beginning after the childrens message. Nursery care is provided during the worship service.
