Exploring the small farm dream

Due to high demand and continual requests from people thinking about starting a farm business, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wayne County will once again offer this workshop.

The interactive workshop will help those people that are thinking about creating a small farm business OR turning your part time hobby into more income and personal fulfillment. Even if you have some experience farming, but have never operated a farm, then this workshop is for you!

Cornell Cooperative Extension is partnering with the Wayne County Agriculture Development Board to bring to you the research based 'Exploring the Small Farm Dream: Is Starting an Agriculture Business Right for you?' The aim of this workshop is to help those thinking about small-scale commercial farming and learning what it takes to get this business off the ground.

Participation in the workshop is limited and by application only. Sessions will run for three hours once a week for four weeks with activities that will need to be completed between sessions to allow the participant to achieve their goals for learning.

Classes will be on Feb. 24, March 10, March 18 and April 1, at 6 p.m. at the CCE office in Newark. Please call the office, 315-331-8415 if you are interested in attending. Applications are also available on our website at: http://counties.cce.cornell.edu/wayne/agriculture.

A $75 registrations fee, including workbook and supporting materials, will be charged for those accepted into the program. Applications are due Feb. 16.
