Scouts named Troop of the Month

NEWARK:  Hard work by Newark Girl Scout Troop No. 746 earned them the honor of being named Troop of the Month. In October, the girls participated in a lock in at the community center where they made crafts for the nursing homes and activity bags for the hospital. They also were busy selling sold Girl Scout Cookies. In November the girls held a cookie booth sale at Save-A-Lot and marched in the Veterans Day parade. In December, the troop shopped for Christmas gifts for a Red Cross family that the scouts sponsored and went caroling at Newark Manor. They also participated in several community service projects. The girls made over 100 snowman crafts to donate to the DeMay Living Center and also made birthday cards. The girls look forward to more activities in the future.
