SUBMITTED PHOTO At the top of the podium at the state gymnastics championships, gold-medal winner Alexandra House, 9, now readies to compete in Orlando, Fla. NEW HARTFORD: Alexandra House, a member of the Eagle Gymnastics Level 6 Team in Canandaigua, took home gold and silver medals last weekend after competing in the USGA New York State gymnastics championships in New Hartford. The 9-year-old competed against the top Level 6 gymnasts in her age division from across the state. House took first place on vault with a score of 8.80; first place on the uneven bars with a score of 9.95; second place on balance beam with a score of 9.725; first place on floor exercise with a score of 9.575; and captured the gold medal in the all-around with a score of 37.650. Silver and bronze winners in the all-around went to gymnasts from Long Island. The fourth-grade student at Kelley School in Newark will competed again this past weekend in Buffalo before traveling with her team to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the Disney Magical Classic.
