Recycling calendar available online The calendar for curbside residential recycling is an annual publication that lists information from the Western Finger Lakes Authority on curbside recycling for Wayne County homes. The calendar will no longer be printed, but will be available on the authoritys website, www.wfingerlakesauthority.org. Residents may also call the office at (800) 724-3867 and request a copy. Curbside residential recycling is collected every other week throughout Wayne County. Single-family homes and small apartment house up to 6 units are served by this program. Some small businesses also participate.
Materials collected for recycling have not changed in several years. The list includes: paper products clean papers and boxes; containers - food, cleaning products and personal care products; newspapers and pennysavers; glass food containers - clear or any color; cardboard food and gift boxes; metal food containers steel and aluminum cans and foil, including baking pans; cardboard shipping boxes flatten and cut to no more than 2 ft. x 4 ft.; plastic food, cleaning and personal care containers with Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 on the bottom; books telephone, paperback and hardcover with covers removed from hardcover books; paper cartons milk and juice containers and drink boxes.
