LYONS - Home Meal Service is the recipient of a grant of $5,000 from the Wayne County Community Endowment. This grant will fund the Sodus Nutrition Site, where hot meals are available to the community in addition to the Meals-on-Wheels program, which provides hot meals to the homebound residents of Wayne county. Last year 7,808 meals were served at the nutrition site and 41,170 meals-n-wheels were delivered.

The Wayne County Community Endowment consists of several funds established at the Rochester Area Community Foundation, which benefit residents of Wayne county. Each year, the advisory committee for the Wayne County Community Endowment accepts applications from a variety of organizations serving charitable needs in Wayne county. The committee reviews and analyzes the requests and makes recommendations to the board of the Rochester Area Community Foundation. The advisory committee also encourages expanded philanthropy to meet the needs of the Wayne County community.
