Gala Snowflake Sweetheart Ball

ALTON: Search no longer for that perfect Valentine's Day gift. Treat your sweetheart to an elegant, unforgettable night out Wednesday, Feb. 14 at the 4th Annual Gala Snowflake Ball, the premier fundraiser in support of the animals of Cracker Box Palace Farm Animal Haven, a registered not-for-profit, no-kill farm animal shelter in Alton.

The Palace provides a safe haven for abused, neglected or abandoned farm animals that have been rescued from cruelty cases and are undergoing rehabilitation, before finding new, loving homes. Its also a home to those who just need a new home due to changes in their owners life circumstances.

The Gala is an elegant, formal, black tie optional event held at Burnham's Canalside Restaurant and Banquet Facility at the Quality Inn in Newark. The evening begins with cocktails, hors doeuvres and a wine tasting reception highlighting Finger Lakes wines. This year, the spotlight will be on the second winery to open in Wayne county, Young Sommer Winery in Williamson.

A gourmet dinner will provide a choice of four selections. The evening will continue with silent and live auctions, music, dancing and open bar.

Reservations must be made and paid in advance by Feb. 1. Cost is a $100 tax-deductible donation per person. With the purchase of 10 tickets, one is free.

Beautiful, newly-appointed rooms are available at the Quality Inn at a special rate. Call 331-1344 and specify Gala Snowflake Ball.

Tuxedo rentals are also being offered at special rates courtesy of two businesses that support the efforts of Cracker Box Palace Farm Animal Haven. Contact the Kraft Shack/Your Perfect Day in Sodus 483-2358 or Tuxedo Junction. Specify the Gala Snowflake Ball.

Auction donations are needed. Donations will be recognized and are tax-deductible.
